Abi Dionisio
Dionisio, born in 1987 in Bulacan, Philippines, is a celebrated contemporary artist whose works explore themes of identity, culture, and the human condition. With a practice that spans painting, mixed media, and installation, she has established herself as a prominent voice in Southeast Asian contemporary art.
Dionisio’s artistic journey is marked by a robust exhibition history. Her recent solo show, “Red Is Not Red, Blue Is Not Blue” at Finale Art File in 2023, received critical acclaim, following earlier solo exhibitions such as “Noah In Us” at the START Art Fair, Saatchi Gallery London in 2020. Other notable exhibitions include “Flesh and Needles” at Art Fair Philippines, “Control Your Sheet” at Finale Art File in Manila, and “Backbone and Stitches” at the Bencab Museum. Her distinct visual style, which juxtaposes bold imagery with subtle social commentary, has made her work a staple in prestigious galleries and art fairs across Manila, Singapore, London, and New York.
